What this is.

The Go Groups x Faith in Action series combines faith-based small group curriculum and community impact by applying entrepreneurial principles. Move beyond discussion-based curriculum and challenge participants to work on a mission-minded project. Participants work together for 90-days to take action on their passion, purpose, and calling.

Why this matters.

Connect each participant’s God-given passion, purpose, calling, talents and gifts to multiply their impact in the Kingdom of God (Matthew 25, Parable of the Talents). Work as a group to get outside of the four walls and be the church in the community. Move beyond one-time food banks, clothing drives, or community initiatives that may hurt the people we serve. Provide a runway for more sustainable community impact and ignite the entrepreneurial, creative, and innovative passion of members in your congregation.

How this works.

Each of the 12 Go Groups sessions include a Scripture-based discussion, lesson video by Philip Harding connecting faith and impact, and ends with participants sharing feedback on completed projects. Participants move from just talking or dreaming to taking action with real people. Jesus said to go. (Matthew 28) This is how to go. An optional community impact event at the end of the series offers an opportunity to invite community leaders, government officials, and partners to participate in the story. Participants can then go to their next level, start their own Go Group, and live out their passion, purpose, and calling.

What participants are saying

John: "It's really cool to look around the room when we're gathering together and just see wheels turning and that they don't stop turning. And it's not that frustrating-I'm-pulling-my-hair-out kind of grind. It's more of, wait a minute, this is starting to make sense. Wait a minute. This is what I've been looking for."

Laurie: "...my pain starts to go away because of all these good chemicals being released out of my brain. When I get excited and passionate about this, I start feeling physically better. I feel myself with increased energy. It happens every single time I get excited and get to share this."

Zuri: "It's so nice to come learn about yourself and your passions and then see how you can impact the world around you."

About Philip Harding

Philip Harding has worked with thousands both in and outside of the church to better take action on mission-critical projects. He is the co-founder of Impact Junkie, a social impact business focused on equipping and empowering entrepreneurs to connect to their God-given purpose in business. Producing Go Groups is a response to leaders in over 20+ countries asking for a more strategic approach to move people to take action in their organizations.  Since 2020, he has worked as a consultant with pastors and faith leaders tackling big challenges such as launching mission centers in urban communities. As a result, pastors began requesting his work be applied to creating a discipleship program for churches.

  • Philip is an impact and faith-driven entrepreneur, investor, international speaker, and has worked with change makers at over 20 universities and in the jungles of Central America. In the last year, over 6,000 completed his innovation and impact programs in five languages. He is global speaker, facilitator, and executive coach on innovation and impact-driven entrepreneurship.

He is requested to work with government leaders, the US State Department, leaders of large investment funds, and international organizations. He designed and teaches a masters-level required course on innovation and problem-solving as a member of the faculty at Johns Hopkins University. He has been a judge for Startup Istanbul, Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge, a mentor at the Harvard Innovation Lab, and keynote speaker at innovation and impact investment events from Uzbekistan and Indonesia to Guatemala and the United Arab Emirates.

While serving as youth pastor in California with his family, he felt a strong call to government, public service, education, and entrepreneurship.

After home school for high school, he went on to complete three degrees in Applied Art and Design, Computer Information Systems, and Business at Sierra College - and completed advanced certifications at Stanford University.

He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Harvard University and Harvard Kennedy School with a focus on bringing private solutions to the world’s biggest public problems. He was the first distance student ever elected a Harvard student president - first elected while living in California over 3,000 miles away - and was later elected Harvard university-wide student president. In 2014, he was selected to deliver the graduate commencement speech about divine destiny and “going to serve the world with passion” with an audience of over 30,000 in Harvard Yard.

He served as a Legislative Fellow in US Congress, and at graduation, was selected as a Presidential Fellow.

In the US Federal Government, he served as senior advisor for innovation and government modernization, from the White House to the Pentagon, on $80 billion in transformation projects. He helped scale the Presidential Innovation Fellows and launched The Great Pitch, which invested over $16 million in good-for-government ideas, now US government’s internal “Venture Capital” arm.
