“From Rafts to the Dinner Table” Take the trip of lifetime to experience Syrian cuisine and its *new* culture in Europe! Be part of launching this new type of cooking venture to provide income for Syrian refugees as they resettle from tent to home.
(airfare from DC + 4 days/3 nights + Syrian cuisine experience)
Take an international trip to meet with refugee families in Europe (Germany or Greece), participate in a hands-on authentic Syrian cooking class, and have dinner with a refugee family as you hear their stories from rafts to the dinner table. You will come as strangers, but leave as friends around the dinner table. Why the dinner table? As culture shifts with refugees leaving everything behind, family included, to survive, many misconceptions of who they are, and desire to share their love for Syria absent of hate, but filled with love. The dinner table is the open door to starting a conversation, hearing their stories, and being a part of changing lives (yours included!)
