IMPACTJUNKIE partners with Brazil Missionaries, The Coopers, to start life-changing venture
Water is essential to everyday life, but so are ventures, especially with missionaries in Brazil. When there is no water, there is not many other things in life that seem important. We received a call from Katie Rhoads, Brazil missions team member, in desperate need. Their emergency water well was drying up, funds were low and they would be out of water for their family, children’s home and family center in the next three to four days. IMPACTJUNKIE wasted no time and had an emergency well installed through the partnership with Wells of Life, and the water started flowing. But, why stop there? Let’s make sure this never happens again, and be part of a solution that is long-lasting. Zuri, leads of research and assessment at IMPACTJUNKIE, talked with Bella Cooper, missionary wife, and heard her heart to start businesses to provide income for her family, and others in their churches. We also learned in their emergency need for water, they had prayed over the well and the need was met almost instantly. They had dreams that had been confirmed from several visitors about how businesses were going to start and provide new opportunities for their village. Some of Bella Cooper’s personal dreams are a Christian bookstore, coffee shop, resort, and their own clothing line. We couldn’t be more excited and knew we had to start a venture, together. After some brainstorming, we learned of these new type of stylish bags the women were making. It is the Brazil flag turned from a wrap, scarf, into a zipper bag - all in one. Amazing! (Check out the video below to see how it works!) We partnered to start the design process, price out the prototypes, but we had another problem. Sewing machines. We needed sewing machines so the Brazilian women could make hundreds to be sold at impactjunkie.co. We received a message from Kent Elliott, pastor of Faith Tabernacle of Manchester, Connecticut that their student ministry wanted to partner with IMPACTJUNKIE during their “Elevate Your Summer” series to raise funds for several mission focused groups. We said, what if this student ministry not only raised funds, but partnered to launch a venture? Our stories collided and we are excited to write the next chapter together. With the support of Faith Tabernacle and IMPACTJUNKIE, the sewing machines have been purchased to start the Brazil venture for the all-in-one bags to make even greater impact. As you can see in the picture, the material is being purchased to start the first round of production of these unique bags. Just think, starting a venture was the key to removing the worry for lack of water with the missionaries of Brazil. We dare you to drink the water, so to speak, and be an IMPACTJUNKIE to be part of life-changing ventures all the time. This is what doing more with what you’ve been given looks like, and to start something that changes lives.
